Richard Ely passed away in February of 2009 after sustaining a traumatic head injury from a bad fall after leaving a Manhattan gallery.

To date, I have been inundated with kind words, surrounded by love, and continue to share a wealth of small, beautiful, and sad miracles with the worldwide family of friends caring for Richard Ely.

All of you who loved Richard Ely are encouraged to share love, hope, joy, art, and music with each other far and wide.

The 1st of August is Richard Ely's Birthday. If there is a day to celebrate life, let it be that day.

Remember sweet and glorious music, long and hearty laughter, and the joy of friendship and love on each individual's own terms.
